We gather together each Sunday morning for worship, fellowship, and study. We would love to have you gather with us to receive our Lord’s gifts.

Our primary time of worship is called the “Divine Service” (also known as the Divine Liturgy or Holy Mass). We believe that within the Divine Service God comes to serve us with His gifts. As we hear His Word preached, the absolution (word of forgiveness) pronounced, and receive the body and blood of Jesus in the Lord’s Supper, God forgives us our sins and strengthens us in our relationship with Him and with one another. Having received from Him His gifts, we respond in prayer, praise, and thanksgiving.

This Divine Service follows the pattern of the historic liturgy in which we are able, as a community, to join in retelling the story of God’s work of salvation in Jesus. The historic liturgy is essentially nothing more nor less than singing and speaking the songs and statements made to and about Jesus in Holy Scripture.

As part of the historic liturgy, each week we sing together the Gloria in Excelsis (the song of the angels on Christmas Eve announcing Jesus’ birth) and the Kyrie (crying out “Lord, have mercy on us,” with the two blind men [Matthew 20], the Canaanite woman [Matthew 15], and others), the Sanctus (combining the song of the angels in Isaiah 6:3 with the cry of “Hosanna” on Palm Sunday) and the Nunc Dimittis (Simeon’s song from Luke 2 when Jesus was presented in the temple), among others. We sing hymns and confess our sins. We hear God’s Word read and preached.

We also celebrate Holy Communion (also known as the Lord’s Supper or the Holy Eucharist) every Sunday. Because the Bible tells us that — in addition to giving us Christ’s true body and blood — the Lord’s Supper is also a meal of confessional unity, guests who desire to receive the body and blood of our Lord are asked to please speak to Pastor before the service begins.
